QUESTIONS ABOUT THIN CLIENT

Thin client products, also called WBT (Windows Base terminal), have ceased to be just a WBT with the developing technology and have come to support servers working with all kinds of operating systems. It connects to medium and large main servers independently of the operating system, allowing it to be used as a PC and system terminal.

Due to various factors in Turkey, since the beginning of the 1980s, PC (Personnel Computer) has been used instead of the system terminal with a great misuse in the IT world.

Especially in recent years, with the increasing awareness of users, this wrong habit has begun to be reversed and the use of thin client is rapidly spreading.

Thin client is used instead of all PC and system terminal working as a server.

All the components on the PC (Personnel Computer) other than the hard disk are available on the Thin Client. Instead of a hard disk, there is a Disk On Module (DOM) that performs the same function.

Peripherals such as CD/DVD, printer, scanner can be connected via the USB port, which is 3-6 depending on the model.

15MB for each thin client in addition to the memory and disk capacity that the server needs for normal use. additional memory and 1GB. additional disk capacity is needed. At most 3GHz as CPU. Dual core processor is recommended. For example, 1.5GB outside the normal requirement on the server to which 100 thin clients will be connected. memory and 100GB. disk capacity. The additional disk and memory capacity needed in today's technology is provided at extremely low costs.

.

Microsoft Windows CE.Net, Windows XPe, WES (Windows Embedded Standard) or Win, licensed by model, embedded in the DOM in Thinclient. There are 7 operating systems. License tags are stuck on thin client.

.

Thinclients consume electricity around 15-20 Watts on average. The electricity consumption of new generation thin client devices is 8 w. is around. A normal PC case is 300 -350w. Considering the cost of money, at least 90% economy is achieved with the use of thin client.
